What is your first memory at AC Martin?

Nearly 10 years ago, when I came in for my interview, it felt less like a formal process and more like a warm, engaging conversation with friends. From that moment, I knew this was a place where I could thrive—a firm where I could grow professionally, learn from talented colleagues, and contribute to projects that truly make a difference. It's been an incredible journey ever since!

Discuss a housing project you worked on that had a significant impact on you, either personally or professionally?

On my first student housing project, SDSU Huaxyacac Student Hall, I learned a great deal about student life and the importance of creating a home away from home for first year students.

Do you have a mentor?

Susan O'Connell, who I have worked closely with on numerous projects, has been an incredible mentor to me. She has shared her knowledge, experience, and insights – providing valuable guidance while fostering independence and critical thinking. Here is a photo of me speaking at the SDSU Imperial Valley campus with support from Susan.

Are you a mentor to anyone?

Yes, I enjoy educating and contributing to the career development of our AC Martin team as much as possible.

Is there an aspect of architecture in which you excel or are passionate about?

As Principal/Project Manager, I enjoy managing collaborative teams and creating innovative solutions to complex problems.

What's a common misconception about architecture that you wish more people understood?

Architecture is not just one person's vision. It is a collection of many ideas, and it takes a village for it to be successful.

Is there an AC Martin designed project in your neighborhood? Yes, the former Sunkist Headquarters in Sherman Oaks, CA. This building is currently being renovated as creative office called Citrus Commons. Here is a photo of the original building designed by AC Martin in the 1960’s.
