New Natural Resources Headquarters Receives Three DBIA-WPR Awards

At the recent DBIA Western Pacific Region Conference held in Napa, California the design-build team for the New Natural Resources Headquarters (NNRH) presented the educational session, “Maximizing the Big Room Experience for Design-Build Excellence.”  The team including Richard Standiford (Department of General Services), Dan Wheeler and Jim Hull (Turner Construction), Jenna Baker (Glumac), and Tammy Jow (AC Martin) shared unique perspectives and experiences toward achieving a successful Big Room. The conference was capped off with the Annual Awards Program Dinner where the team was honored with three distinguished awards:  Award of Excellence in Lean in Design-Build, Design Excellence, and the Project of the Year Award. The NNRH team was recognized for a project that has “…demonstrated innovative solutions to project challenges, developed a unique and high-quality design, effectively utilized emerging technology and exceeded expectations for project outcomes."
